A toy gun with 12 year-old black skin
Meant instant death
And no one batted a white eye?

Or, 

when five black and brown teens 

spent 6-13 years in prison
For a crime they didn’t commit
While the newspapers ran a full length attack ad
from the President of the Divided States of America? 

Or do you remember those same teens
(Falsely accused)
Getting invited
To dine on hamburgers and lies
While the White House
Patted themselves on
The backbones of the marginalized and vulnerable?

(No. You don't. Because they didn’t.)

the White Boy is always
innocent
even in the middle of his 

Violence and Aggression.

Because the White Boy always:

Writes the stories

Sells the papers

Makes the money

Reflects the power.

And no one remembers 

The 12 year-old on the playground

Who stopped breathing because of a bullet

And an author

That only writes stories

For White Boys.
